Burrumboot

Mount Burrumboot Estate is located in the Mt. Camel Range in the Heathcote appellation. The name is derived from a peak located on the Mt. Camel Range. Mount Burrumboot vineyards has evolved from an old family farm which raised lambs and grew grains including barley and hay, to a producer of wine grapes. Today they have gone a step further creating several veriatals from the best grapes of their harvest.

2002 Merlot

The 2002 Merlot is totally black in color with a purple mauve hue. It displays a very opulent nose with intense aromas of spice, plum, liquorice and mulberry. The palate flavors are quite explosive and fill the mouth with layers of plum, spice and licorice, followed by further layers of vanilla and cedar.

2002 Shiraz

The 2002 Shiraz is an outstanding fruit filled wine with a totally black crimson color. This wine displays a superb nose with aromas of spice, licorice, plum and cedar. The palate is packed with primary fruit flavors but has not developed layers of complexity at this stage. Mouth filling flavors of spice, black pepper and plum exhibit a typical Heathcote Shiraz flavor, followed by layers of plum, spice and chocolate. This Shiraz has excellent length with fine dry tannins.
